Presentation at the Renaissance Hotel, Moscow
Over 90 people attended the Presentation of the School on Wednesday 31st May. It was delightful to welcome not only many parents who have already enrolled their children at the school, but also many prospective parents, as well as representatives from embassies, including the British, Australian, Namibian and Korean embassies and several leading Relocation agencies, including Evans and Moveone.
It was my pleasure to introduce to the audience not only Mr Brian Frakes (pictured), the International Schools Development Officer for Orbital Education, the British company that owns and manages the school, but also the permanent Headmaster, Mr Ross Hunter. Mr Frakes spoke of the active way that Orbital Education educational experts will manage the school by monitoring academic standards and providing examples of current UK good practice. He also listed the considerable items of investment made by the company. It will, he said be an excellent educational environment for the children, with the latest educational and information technology resources. He also spoke of the plans for the growth of the school, including an additional building on the same campus that will provide two sports halls and additional teaching rooms for the expanding secondary and sixth form classes of the school.
Mr Hunter (pictured) spoke of his particular passion for the development of an English curriculum and English ethos at the school. The Headmaster emphasized that the school would foster the development of the whole person, taking care to develop to the full potential not only the academic potential of each child but also their physical, social and spiritual potential. The English ethos with its school uniform, good discipline, extended enriched day programme and its House system of pastoral care will also enable to development of children in whom both the parents and the staff will be proud. |
