PE and Sports Programme

Starting 4th September there will be many opportunities for the pupils to develop not only a love for games but also to develop their general fitness and specific Physical Education skills.

Each child will have at least two PE and Games session each week as well as an opportunity, in the Extended Enriched Day Programme, to choose some additional specialised sport or Physical activity.

The formal PE and Games programme will follow the requirements of the English National Curriculum whereby pupils will develop a series of specific physical skills, many related to team sports such as Soccer, Basketball and Netball. Our PE facilities on campus are taking shape with the all weather basketball court largely completed, work on the 5–a– side soccer pitch in progress and work on the volleyball court to commence in the next few weeks. On campus we also have our large multipurpose Hall that will be used each day for the younger children to have physical exercises and activities to develop their gross and fine motor skills in balance, ball play and agility.

We have a use of a newly refurbished and equipped gymnasium – literally only five minutes away by the school bus - specially designed for basketball and gymnastics, a second sports hall for volleyball, indoor soccer and indoor hockey, a ballet and dance studio and a general fitness room for the older pupils.

School Bus Services, Medical Form and Lunch Service

Ann Shin, the School Secretary is currently emailing all the parents and asking them to complete and return to her questionnaires on whether or not parents want to have the School Bus Service and the School Lunch Service. I should be grateful if parents would kindly respond as soon as possible so that we are able to proceed with our preparations for these services. To know that you do not want to have these services is as important as to know that you would like to have the service, so please let us know your wishes.

Your information on the Medical Form is very important to us. It helps us ensure that the School Nurse knows about your child’s particular medical history and can take the appropriate action to ensure that your child remains safe and healthy at school.

Ann will also shortly be writing to you about the school uniform code and the availability of the uniform items specially designed for the school.
