It is my great pleasure to introduce the English International School, Moscow East.

The English International School, East is now in its tenth year. Given it is a relatively young campus, it has grown up very quickly and has achieved much in a short space of time.

EIS Moscow East is the preeminent British style school in the eastern half of Moscow. It enjoys an extensive campus with a beautiful school building and outdoor space. It provides a secure and intimate learning environment for the student. Our classrooms are large and benefit from plenty of natural light. We use the latest technology to support learning as well as encourage traditional play amongst our younger children. Our outdoor space is equally generous, with grassed areas and space for sporting activities. We offer a full range of sports for students so everyone can be involved, no matter what their age or ability.

Parents enjoy a very close parent-school partnership and their children an excellent staff-pupil ratio. Parents play a very important role in the school’s continued development. Our Parent Group contributes to many different aspects of school life.

The Primary Department offers a child-centred and broad integrated Early Years Foundation Course and Primary programme, based on the best practice from the English National Curriculum and other international curricula.

The Secondary Department is based on the English National Curriculum Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and A Level curriculum programmes, but enhanced to include Russian and Russian studies. The Secondary programmes reflect the international flavour of the school, thereby enhancing potential learning opportunities.

I joined the English International School, Moscow as Principal in August 2012 having been a teacher and senior leader internationally in six other countries (the Middle East, Sweden, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand). Arriving in Russia and Moscow has been a very interesting and exciting experience, not only in terms of being introduced to a new culture and some truly fascinating history, but also in leading an international school at an important stage of its development.

We have a highly qualified teaching staff. Except for our language teachers, they are native English speakers. Many of them having extensive experience of teaching in schools in the UK.  We also have an excellent team of Russian learning assistants and support staff.

I hope as a prospective parent, who may be relocating to Moscow and reading this for the first time, you will arrange to visit the school. I shall be delighted to show the school to you. You will see what an exciting centre of learning we have at English International School, Moscow East.
